Astro on Demand - What Crap!
Astro got new channels - Astro on Demand. I guess everyone knows about it already. The channels will feature Chinese serial dramas at about the same time as they are aired in Hong Kong. Viewers will have to pay per episode.
It is a big deal, really. Malaysian viewers are normally served with stale and outdated programmes by Astro without them knowing it. Astro always comes out with new channels and products and I admire their innovation and creativity for sucking the people’s money.
Astro has never and will never be in my book for a great cable TV operator. Astro on Demand is currently being publicised heavily on channel 36. Their tagline - You will never need to watch repeats again. What crap! They are the one who keeps repeating their programmes and now they want their subscribers to pay extra for fresh programmes.
As if the recent price increase is not enough, all their channels are infested with commercials. Commercial breaks are so frequent that it is really not worth the time to watch an entire movie. I have not watch a movie on Astro from start to end for a long time now. Watching movie on Astro is no more enjoyable that I have taken to the cinemas on weekends.
Back to the topic of the commercials. I am sure many would have noticed it. The volume of the commercials are very much louder than the normal programmes. If you are watching a movie with the normal volume, you will be startled when the commercials kick in. It is a devilish way to get the viewers’ attention. I do not know whether this is Astro’s or the advertiser’s idea.
Shove it up your ass again, Astro!

Yeah, they wanna charge me RM1.49 per episode whilst that housewives’ channels Dynasty package subscriber only pay RM0.99. (I thot I wanna do a spoiler blog for SEO mah, day by day story likedat….) So, now I boikot sama Astro and nyek, I am #1 on the search page.

I totally agree with everyone. Astro is a BIG CON JOB. They want to increase subscription again for some new channels. All they feature are crap and reruns. I just hope there will be a new cable operator to give them a run for their money. Or that subscribers starts boycotting them.
The biggest NBA game of the year where Yao Ming was pit against Yi Jian Lian was not televised live. I think those bastards at Astro didnt want to pay NBA to bring us that game live.
