No Unifi for me. Dang!

Things went smoothly after I applied for Unifi, the high speed broadband service by Telekom Malaysia. They called a day after I have submitted my application online. They confirms all the details and sets a date for installation. I was excited and are really looking forward to the day.

I began to do some researching on Unifi. It does not paint a rosy picture and I found reasons not to subscribe to it. The process was like a mission to find the enemy and put a bullet through its head.

Unofficial Guide to applying Unifi online. Aka Me applied Unifi online. Hell Yeah!

The Unifi website is down the whole morning. It shows an error page whenever I click the “apply now” link. I am only able to access it in the afternoon, after office hours. It is pretty straight forward, until some parts where it gets very confusing. Outlined below are the step by step guide (sort of) on how to apply Unifi broadband online.

The reward for my effort for applying online (For a limited time only):

  1. Free installation charges.
  2. Free equipments.
  3. Free one month subscription.

Bulls, I only get the free one month subscription for applying online. The others are given free anyway, no matter how I apply. “For a limited time only” is also an ongoing sweetener. It has been like that for as long as I can remember. Better than nothing, I supposed.

Here’s the guide:

Go to Unifi’s website. Click “Apply Now” on the top right corner.

Excited, I went to their website looking for more info and with the intention of registering for the package. Impressively the site flashes “Video. Internet. Phone. Experience the all-new high speed broadband lifestyle.” After reading through all the mumbo jumbo, I click “Register”

Windows 8 unveiled to Developers

This just in. Windows 8 unveiled to thousands of software developers. Windows Developer Preview is made available to the public here. You can actually download it and see how it looks like on your computer right now. How cool is that.

Well, for a start, it looks nothing like the windows we are used to. It is optimised for touch screen in an apparent battle set against iPad.

iPod, iMac, iPhone, iPad and now iWatch

Apple, you gotta be kidding me. But I am not kidding you. If this baby hits the street, I am gonna *queue for it (*trend nowadays).

Apple, the company behind these “i” products is producing toys for the grown ups at an astounding pace. It’s a lifestyle they say. Not much fun I say.
